Automatic reference structuring (ARS) system uses pattern-matching to generate XML structure from bibliographic references. The current database includes 2000+ patterns of references including ACS and group references of Journals/Books. The application matches the input reference from author with one of the available patterns, identifies the part elements automatically and structures them. The whole process of tagging all references in an article/chapter is automated. Any pattern which is not matched by the ARS is left unstructured. This database is updated on a regular basis.

The OCS solution developed by SPS provides a platform for authors, editors, and production staff with a mechanism to undertake proofing activity in his/her proof. In the OCS, one or more author/editor/proofreader can incorporate corrections in the XML directly. The author marks the corrections and ultimately ‘finalizes’ the Proof. After finalizing, the corrections of author are visible to the next level reviewer. Once the author/editor/proofreader publishes his/her corrections, further corrections by him/her are restricted.
